Campervan Interior Upgrades: Seat Covers, Cushions and Curtains

You spend a lot of time looking at the inside of your campervan, and it's the part that feels most like yours. Interior upgrades are also the most affordable way to refresh a van — a tired interior is the first thing people notice, but a few well-chosen upgrades can transform it for a few hundred pounds.

Seat covers

The cab seats and any belted travel seats take daily abuse from sun, spills and muddy dogs. Fitted seat covers are the upgrade that protects them and modernises the cab.

• Generic covers cost £30–£80 and fit most vans, but tailored covers for popular models run £150–£350.
• Look for covers that are machine-washable — they will need washing.
• If you have a VW or a popular base van, check whether the covers are model-specific; they fit far better.

Cushions and cushions pads

Seat-bed cushions go flat over the years. Replacing the foam is the cheapest way to bring a bed back to life.

Curtains and blinds

Cabinets, door curtains and cab blinds are both practical and cosmetic.

• Ready-made cab blinds cost £40–£100 and are fine if you don't mind a generic look.
• Made-to-measure curtains run £50–£150 per window but look tailored and block light properly.
• Blackout fabric is the priority for sleeping in summer — light mornings in the UK will find every gap.
